التماس iltimās A (inf. viii. of لمس) s. m. f. Be- seeching, petitioning, supplication, prayer, re- quest. التماس کرنا iltimās karnā, To beseech, solicit, to request, to petition, supplicate, repre- sent humbly.

احادیث aḥādīs̤ A s. f. (plur. of حدیث) Tradi- tions, (particularly) the traditions or sayings of Muhammad.

ازک توزک uzak tūzak T s. m. Pomp, splendour; the habits or fashions of a king; the kingʼs seal.

اجر ajr A s. m. Retribution, reward of good or bad actions, hire, fare, fee. اجردینا ajr denā, To reward, recompense.

ان پورنا anna-pūrnā अन्न पूर्ण S̱. s. m. Satiety of food.

اشیا ashyā A s. plur. (of شي) Things, effects.

استقلال istiḳlāl A (inf. x. of قلّت) s. m. Absolute power, absolute authority, sovereignty, indepen- dence, absoluteness, intrepidity, resolution, per- severance, vigour.

اوزار auzār A s. plur. (of وزر) 1. Sins or offences (but in Hindī not used in this sense). 2. Arms, tools, apparatus. 3. The rigging and imple- ments of a ship or boat. 4. Asylums, places of defence.

آم بات ām-bāt आमवात S̱. s. m. A swel- ling which comes without pain, and goes off as easily without medicine; a windy tumour.
