آب حیات āb-i-ḥayāt P s. Water of life; the fountain of life.

اندوه andoh P s. m. Grief, anxiety, trouble. اندوه گین andoh-gīn, adj. Full of grief, sad, afflicted, sorrowful.

اوترنا autarnā S. or avatarnā (from अवतार) v. n. To descend (as an incarnation of the Deity, &c.) on earth.

اپکار उपकार upa-kār S s. m. Assistance, bene- fit, kindness, favour.

اٿکل پچو aṭkal-pachchū H s. m. One who guesses at a venture, or without grounds on which to judge. adv. At random.

ادهیڙ ad-heṛ S̱. adj. Middle-aged, just past the prime of life. (Applied most frequently to women).

آر ār H s. f. A goad.

اننا annā H s. m. A male nurse, or the husband of the nurse called انني annī, q. v. PORT. انناس anannās, s. m. A pineapple. PORT. H. انناسي anannās-ī, adj. Made like a pine- apple.

اچها achchhā S̱. (अच्छ Clear, transparent) adj. Good, excellent, pleasant, righteous, healthy, well, sound, lucky. اچها کرنا achchhā karnā, To cure, recover. اچها لگنا achchhā lagnā, To be- come, beseem, please, be agreeable. اچها هونا achchhā honā, v. n. To recover.
