سپهل सुफल su-phal S adj. Bearing good fruit (literally or figuratively), fruitful, profitable, useful.

سمدهي samdhī सम्बन्धी S̱. s. m. Childʼs father-in-law.

سيپاره sī-pāra P (سي Thirty, and پاره Piece, di- vision, viz. a thirty piece) 1. s. m. Each one of the thirty sections, or the thirty sections, into which the ḳurʼān is divided. 2. adj. Of thirty pieces. See سپاره sipāra.

سوگوار sog-wār P adj. Afflicted, sorrowful, in mourning, lamenting, mourning.

سکهناود sikhnāwad S̱. s. m. Tuition.

سار sār P 1. A particle denoting plenty, magni- tude, or similitude; as, کوهسار koh-sār, A moun- tainous country. عنبرسار aﻌmbar-sār, Full of ambergris. شاه سار shāh-sār, Like a king. 2. Head; as نگونسار nigūṅ-sār, Inverted, with the head undermost. 3. A camel. 4. The name of a black bird of a musical voice, called in Shīrāz گاوتنگ.

سگرٴي sugraʼī H s. f. Name of a musical mode, or rāginī, sung in the forenoon.

سوکشم सूक्ष्म sūksh̤ma S adj. See سوچهم.

سيام श्याम syām S 1. adj. Black or dark blue. 2. s. m. A name of a bird, the black cuckoo. 3. An epithet of Kr̤ish̤ṇa. 4. Name of a mu- sical mode or rāginī. سيام چڙي syām-chiṛī (श्यामचटक) Name of a bird.

سنگار singār शृंगार S̱. s. m. Ornament, dress, embellishment, decoration. سنگاررس singār- ras, s. m. One of the nine ras: see s. رس.
