سار sār P 1. A particle denoting plenty, magni- tude, or similitude; as, کوهسار koh-sār, A moun- tainous country. عنبرسار aﻌmbar-sār, Full of ambergris. شاه سار shāh-sār, Like a king. 2. Head; as نگونسار nigūṅ-sār, Inverted, with the head undermost. 3. A camel. 4. The name of a black bird of a musical voice, called in Shīrāz گاوتنگ.

سربراه sar-ba-rāh P s. f. 1. Supply. 2. Travel- ling expenses, or cash to pay them. سربراه کار sarbarāh-kār, Expert or skilled in business; a commissary of supplies, factor, achiever.

سرسينگ sir-sīng S̱. (शिरः Head, and शृंग Horn) adj. Rebellious, mutinous.

سراهن sarāhan H s. m. Praising.

سليم salīm A (from سلم) adj. 1. Pacifick, mild, meek, affable. 2. Perfect, healthy. سليم الطبع salīmu-t̤-t̤abﻌ, adj. Affable, mild, gentle, pa- cifick; a real genius, a genuine poet.

ساق sāḳ A (Heb. from ساق Heb. To drive, to impel, to run) s. f. 1. The leg. 2. The trunk of a tree, the stalk of an herb. ساق عروس sāḳ-i-aﻌrūs, s. A kind of sweetmeat.

سند sanad A s. f. 1. Signature, a deed, a grant, a diploma, the seal of a magistrate, a warrant. 2. A prop; any thing on which one leans, or is supported; a document or proof, argument, au- thority, certificate. 3. Relation, connexion. سند مطابق sanad-mut̤ābiḳ, The counterpart of a grant, &c. the order to put it in execution.

سٿي siṭṭī H s. f. Whistling.

سريکها sarekhā S̱. 1. s. f. (अश्लेषा) The ninth mansion of the moon, consisting of five stars, probably in Cancer. 2. adj. Cunning, sly.

سٿيا saṭiyā S̱. (from यष्टि) s. f. A stick.
