سٿهوڙا saṭhoṛā H s. m. A sweetmeat, consisting of meal, sugar, ginger, spices, &c. (particularly given medicinally to childbed women, and dis- tributed, as caudle is, to gossips).

سنگشوئي sang-shoʼī P s. f. Washing rice, &c. be- fore dressing.

سکار sakār सुकाल S̱. s. m. Dawn of day, morning.

سويرا sawerā S̱. s. m. Morning: see سبيرا saberā.

سوگند saugand P s. f. An oath. سوگندا سوگندي saugandā saugandī, s. f. Mutual asseveration.

سدرة sidrat A s. Name of a tree (especially, in paradise). سدرة المنتـہي sidratu-l-muntahī, A station in the seventh heaven, a tree of know- ledge in paradise. See سدره sidra.

سابر sābar S̱. (शंबर or शांबर) s. m. 1. An elk. 2. A leather of elkʼs or any kind of deerʼs hide for bedding. سابرمنتر sābar-mantr (शावरमंत्र from शवर A low Hindū cast, and मंत्र A spell) s. m. A spell composed in colloquial language.

سيڙهي sīṛhī H s. f. A ladder, stair, step; degree.

سناري sunār-ī S̱. s. f. 1. (from سنار) The business of a goldsmith. 2. (सु Good, and नारी Woman) A good, handsome woman.

سکهي सखी sakhī S s. f. 1. A womanʼs female friend or confidant. 2. A kind of faḳīr, who dresses like a woman.
