زنگ zang P s. m. 1. Rust. 2. A small bell. 3. The country of Zang-bār in Africa. زنگ لگنا zang lagnā, To become rusty. زنگ آلود zang- ālūd, adj. Rusty, covered with rust.

زشت zisht P adj. Deformed, ugly, inhuman, hideous. زشت خو zisht-ḵẖū, Of ugly habits or disposition. زشت رو zisht-rū, adj. Ugly.

زاويه zāviya A (Heb. from زوي Heb. or To verge, to tend towards any point, q. d. the point towards which two lines mutually tend) s. m. An angle (in geometry), a corner, retired place, &c. (Plur. زوايا).

زري zar-ī P (from زر) s. f. Any thing woven with gold thread. زري باف zarī-bāf, A gold- lace worker.

زنگوله zangūla P s. m. A little bell, the small bells on a tambourin, a cymbal.

زکي zakī A (part. from زکا) 1. adj. Pure, pious. 2. Continent. 3. s. m. One who regularly pays the زکاة zakāt, q. v.

ز ze called زاي معجمه or زاي منقوطه is the eleventh letter of the Arabic, and the thirteenth of the Persian alphabet. It has no corresponding letter in the Sanskrit alphabet; and, ज (j) is
