زال zāl P 1. adj. Old, decrepit, grey-haired (man or woman). 2. n. prop. (or زال زر) The name of the father of Rustam, and son of Sām, son of Narīmān. He was called زال زر (zāl-i-zar) because he came into the world with white hair, and a red countenance; the former like that of an old man, the latter of golden hue.
