رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

راحت rāḥat A (from روح Heb. To breathe gently, &c.) s. f. Quiet, repose, ease, tranquil- lity, pleasure.

رادهانگري rādhānagar-ī S̱. s. m. A kind of silk cloth made at Rādhānagar.

رني ऋणी r̤iṇ-ī S adj. m. In debt; debtor.

رپيا rupyā S̱. s. m. A coin so called. See روپيه rūpiya.

راگنا rāgnā S̱. (from راگ) v. a. To begin to sing.

رمل raml A s. m. Sand. ¶ ramal, s. m. Geo- mancy, foretelling by figures, divination. P. H. رمنا ramnā (from رميدن) 1. v. n. To turn. 2. To roam, to go, to range, to wander. 3. s. m. A park or chase (for game).

روهٿ rohaṭ S̱. (from s̱. رونا) s. f. Weeping, crying, tears.

رهنما rah-numā P part. Guiding; guide, conductor.

رٿ raṭ S̱. (from رٿنا) s. f. Repetition, iteration.
