رنڐساله ranḍ-sāla S̱. (from रंडा) s. m. Widowʼs dress, widowʼs weeds.

رس ras P (from رسيدن) part. act. used in compos. Arriving, happening, touching at, causing to arrive, one to whom (a thing) arrives; as داد رس dād-ras, An administerer of justice. فرياد رس faryād-ras, One whom lamentation reaches, i. e. a protector, a preserver.

رودن रोदन rodan S s. m. Weeping, crying, a tear, tears.

رفاه rafāh A (from رفه To live com- fortably and at ease. Heb. To be at rest, to desist) s. f. Con- tent, affluence, enjoyment of life, repose, quiet, tranquillity.

رمال rumāl P contract. of رومال rū-māl, q. v.

رپنا rupnā S̱. (intrans. of روپنا for रोधन r. रुध Confine) v. n. To be at bay, to stop.

رسکپور raskapūr S̱. (रसकर्पूर i. e. रस Quick- silver, and कर्पूर Camphor, from its resem- blance to this drug) s. m. Corrosive sublimate, or a preparation of mercury similar to it, but perhaps milder; at least, if we may trust to the dose assigned by Eastern physicians, as stated in the Maḵẖzanu-l-adwiya, i. e. from 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 grains. To prepare it, quicksilver is triturated with red bole (see گيرو), marine salt, and a substance containing vitriolick acid. The Bhāva Prakāsa orders alum, the Maḵẖzanu-l-adwiya vitriol of zinc or copper; but the Sukha- bodha directs sulphur: and, in the last case, the mass is to be moistened with the juice of the bark of the amrā-tree (Spondias mangifera). It is then sublimed in close earthen vessels.

رکيب rakīb A (part. from رکب) s. Any thing ridden upon, placed upon: fellow-rider.

رونا rawannā H s. m. A servant who attends at the gate of the womenʼs apartments to purchase articles that are required.

روجهـ rojh S̱. (Sans. ऋष्य or रिष्य) s. m. The painted or white-footed antelope. (Antilope picta).
