رقص raḳṣ A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. A dance, a ball. 2. Dancing. رقص کنان raḳṣ-kunān, part. Dancing.

رضاعت raẓāʼaﻌt A (from رضع) s. f. Sucking. A. H. رضاعي بهاٴي raẓāʼīﻌ-bhāʼī, A fosterbrother.

روس ros रोष S̱. s. m. Anger, rage. روس کرنا ros karnā, To be angry, to be displeased.

رسن rasan A s. m. String, cord, rope. (Plur. ارسان arsān). رسن باز rasan-bāz, A ropedancer. رسن ساز rasan-sāz, Ropemaker. S. رسنا रसना (r. रस Taste) rasanā, s. f. The tongue.

رضا raẓā A or prop. riẓā (Heb. To approve, be pleased) s. f. 1. Consent, acquiescence, as- sent, good pleasure, will. 2. Permission, leave. رضاجوئي riẓā-jo-ī, s. f. Seeking the good plea- sure or approbation. رضامند raẓā-mand, adj. Acquiescing, consenting, permitting, wishing, willing. رضامندي raẓāmand-ī, s. f. 1. Consent, acquiescence, willingness, good pleasure. 2. Permission.

رانگا rāngā S̱. s. m. (रंग) Pewter, tin.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

روبرو rū-ba-rū P 1. s. m. Presence. 2. adv. Face to face, before, over against.

روپنا ropnā S̱. (रोधन r. रुध Shut up, confine) v. a. To defend. See روکنا roknā. P. H. روپوش هونا rū-posh-honā, v. n. To be concealed, to hide oneʼs face. See under رو rū.

ربيع rabīﻌ A (from ربع) s. f. 1. The spring. 2. The spring harvest or grain cut in the spring (as peas, wheat, &c.).
