رسم rasm A (from رسم rasama, Heb. He marked or wrote) s. f. 1. Custom. 2. Law. 3. Model, plan. 4. A game among children, the laws of which are, that one puts a question to another, who is obliged to reply in words which do not contain either of the three letters س ر or م which compose the word رسم. If one of these should be found in his answer, he is condemned, by way of penalty, to imitate the voice of any animal which may be directed by the questioner.

ريه riya A s. m. (See plur. ريات) The lungs. ذات الريه ẕātu-r-riya, s. m. An inflammation of the lungs, the peripneumony.

راس rās A (Chald. ) s. m. The head; a head of cattle (i. e. one ox, or one horse). راس السرطان rāsu-s-sarat̤ān, The summer solstice. راس الجدي rāsu-l-jadī, The winter solstice. راس فقط rās faḳat̤, A horse of middling breed. راس کلان rās kalān, A horse of high cast.
