ريتاٴي retāʼī S̱. (from ريتنا) s. f. Price paid for filing or polishing.

رامانندي rāmānandī रामानंदीय S̱. s. m. A sect of Hindū faḳīrs, believers in Rāma.

رعيت raʼaﻌiyat A (prop. raʼīﻌyat, from رعي Heb. ) s. f. A subject or the subjects, tenant. (Plur. رعايا). رعيت پرور raʼaﻌiyat-parwar, Protector of subjects. رعيت پروري raʼaﻌiyat- parwar-ī, s. f. Protection of subjects. رعيت نواز raʼaﻌiyat-nawāz, Cherisher of subjects.

رئييس raʼīs A (from راس Heb. The head) s. m. 1. A prince, a chief, head, principal, president, commander, captain, pilot. 2. Citizen. ز

رومي rūm-ī A s. m. A Grecian.

رکهوانا rakhwānā S̱. (caus. of رکهنا rakhnā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to keep, place, &c. See رکهانا rakhānā. رکهوا لينا rakhwā lenā, To take in charge.

رتن منجري रत्नमंजरी ratan-manjarī S s. f. Name of a flower.

رٿ raṭ S̱. (from رٿنا) s. f. Repetition, iteration.

رات rāt रात्रि S̱. s. f. Night. رات تهوڙي اورسانگ بـﮩت rāt thoṛī aur sāng bahut, is applied to express a hurry of business with little time to perform it in; also great expense with a small income. Mīr says:-- بن جو کچهـ بن سکي جواني مين رات تهوڙي هي اوربـﮩت هي سانگ Ban jo kuchh ban sake jawānī meṇ; rāt thoṛī hai aur bahut hai sāng, Acquire whatever you can in the season of youth: the task is arduous and the time short. (Ars longa vita brevis. Hippoc.). آدهي رات ādhī rāt, Midnight. راتون رات rātoṅ rāt, In the middle of the night.

رتن مالا ratan-mālā S (रत्नमाला) s. f. 1. A necklace of precious stones. 2. Name of a book in astronomy. 3. Name of a flower.
