رسکپور raskapūr S̱. (रसकर्पूर i. e. रस Quick- silver, and कर्पूर Camphor, from its resem- blance to this drug) s. m. Corrosive sublimate, or a preparation of mercury similar to it, but perhaps milder; at least, if we may trust to the dose assigned by Eastern physicians, as stated in the Maḵẖzanu-l-adwiya, i. e. from 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 grains. To prepare it, quicksilver is triturated with red bole (see گيرو), marine salt, and a substance containing vitriolick acid. The Bhāva Prakāsa orders alum, the Maḵẖzanu-l-adwiya vitriol of zinc or copper; but the Sukha- bodha directs sulphur: and, in the last case, the mass is to be moistened with the juice of the bark of the amrā-tree (Spondias mangifera). It is then sublimed in close earthen vessels.

رن रण raṇ S s. m. Battle, war, combat. رنبهوم रणभुमि raṇ-bhūmi, Field of battle. رن کهندل raṇ-khandal, s. (dakh. i. q. مقتل) Place of slaughter (?).

رکت کوڙهـ rakt-koṛh रक्तकुष्ठ S̱. s. m. A kind of leprosy in which the part affected is red.

ريجهنا rījhnā S̱. (from रंजन) v. n. To be pleased, to be gratified, to be delighted.

رسوٴي rasoʼī रसवती S̱. s. f. 1. Victuals. 2. Cook-room, kitchen.

رايحه rāʼịḥa A (part. act. of روح) s. m. Fra- grance, perfume, odour.

رندانه rindāna P (from رند) adj. Licentious, rakish, like a debauchee.

رگڙ ragaṛ H (from رگڙنا) s. f. Attrition, friction, rubbing, abrasion.

رکن rukan S̱. (see رکنا) s. f. Stopping.

رطوبت rut̤ūbat A (from رطب) s. f. 1. Humidity, moisture. 2. Freshness. (Plur. رطوبات)
