رت ऋतु r̤itu S (vulg. rut) s. f. Season, weather. The Hindūs divide the year into six seasons; viz. वसंत vasanta, ग्रीष्म grīsh̤ma, वर्षा varsh̤ā, शरद् sarad, हिम hima, and शिशिर sisira.

رفو rafū A s. m. Darning, a darn. See رفا rafā. رفوچکر rafū-chakkar, Making oneʼs escape, stealing off. رفوچکرمين آجانا rafū chakkar meṅ ā-jānā, To be lost in astonishment. رفوکرنا rafū karnā, To darn. رفوگر rafū-gar, s. m. A darner. رفوگري rafū-gar-ī, s. f. The employ- ment of darning. رفوهونا rafū honā, To run away, to retire.

رحمان raḥmān A (from رحم) adj. Merciful, for- giving. (An epithet of God).

رايت rāyat A (from رأي Heb. To see; be- cause it is seen by all or is conspicuous) s. f. A standard.

رانده rānda P part. pass. (of راندن) Driven, driven out, rejected, expelled.

ردا raddā H s. m. A layer of a wall, the work of a day.

رس ras P (from رسيدن) part. act. used in compos. Arriving, happening, touching at, causing to arrive, one to whom (a thing) arrives; as داد رس dād-ras, An administerer of justice. فرياد رس faryād-ras, One whom lamentation reaches, i. e. a protector, a preserver.

راغب rāg̠ẖib A part. act. (of رغب) Willing, wishing; (adjectively) Desirous, curious.

رسواٴي ruswā-ī P s. f. Ignominy, infamy, dis- honour, disgrace, disrepute, &c.

رهايش rahāʼịsh H (from رهنا) s. f. Stay, delay, halt, abode, residence.
