رودن रोदन rodan S s. m. Weeping, crying, a tear, tears.

رسمسانا rasmasānā S̱. (from रस Juice, and म्रक्षण Anointing or smearing over) v. n. To wet with perfumed essences or perspiration.

راماين रामायण rāmāyaṇ S s. f. An epick poem by Vālmīki, containing the history of Rāma. (Poems on the same subject and under the same title have been composed by other authors).

رد radd A s. m. 1. Rejection, repulsion, resist- ance, refutation. 2. (met.) Vomiting. 3. Re- turning, restitution. ردالعجز علي الصدر raddu-l-aﻌjz aﻌlạ-ṣ-ṣadr, The antistrophe, repeating at the end of a verse the same word with which it begins, or beginning another with the word which terminated the preceding; a kind of rondeau. رد بدل radd-badal, s. f. Argument, discussion, altercation, agitation, controversy. رد جواب radd-i-jawāb, A reply, rejoinder, retort. رد سلام radd-i-salām, Returning compliments. رد کرنا radd karnā, 1. To reject, disprove, confute, refute, repel, turn back. 2. To vomit. رد هونا radd honā, To be rejected or turned back.

ريب raib A (from راب Heb. To doubt, to dispute) s. m. 1. Doubt, suspicion, scandal. 2. Necessity. 3. Bad fortune. بي ريب وريا

ريزش rezish P (from ريختن) s. f. 1. A running at the nose. 2. A running, flowing in small quan- tities, pouring out, scattering, effusion.

رکهوانا rakhwānā S̱. (caus. of رکهنا rakhnā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to keep, place, &c. See رکهانا rakhānā. رکهوا لينا rakhwā lenā, To take in charge.

راستي rāst-ī P s. f. Honesty, probity, uprightness, veracity, truth, fidelity, justice, loyalty, can- dour, sincerity, rectitude, straightness, justness.

رور ror S̱. or raur (रव) s. f. Noise, clamour, outcry, fame.
