ڐبرا ḍabrā H s. m. Marshy land, a puddle. ڐبرا ڐهرا ḍabrā-ḍahrā, s. m. A hole or pit of water, a puddle.

ڐابهـ ḍābh S̱. s. m. 1. (दर्भ) Name of a sacrificial grass: see ڐاب. 2. (दाव) A forest.

ڐراک dar-āk S̱. adj. Fearful.

ڐنکيانا ḍankiyānā H (from ڐنک) v. a. To sting (as, a reptile).

ڐيڙه ḍeṛh H adj. One and half. ڐيڙه پاو ḍeṛh pāʼo, Three eighths. ڐيڙه پوا ḍeṛh pauwā, A weight, three eighths of a ser. ڐيڙه اينٿ کي مسجد جدي بناني ḍeṛh īnṭ kī masjid judī banānī (lit. to make a separate temple of a brick and a half) To withdraw, through pride, from the so- ciety of others. ڐيڙه بکاين ميان باغ مين ḍeṛh bakāyan miyāṅ bāg̠ẖ meṅ, lit. The gentleman is in his garden consisting of a tree and a half (and the bakāyan, Melia sempervirens, here mentioned, is a tree of no use or estimation) is applied to a person who assumes consequence without reason. H. S̱. ڐيڙه گت ḍeṛh-gat, s. f. A kind of dance.

ڐيلا ḍelā H s. m. A lump of earth. See ڐهيلا.

ڐبونا ḍubonā H or ḍabonā (caus. of ڐوبنا) v. a. To drown, immerse, flood; to ruin, &c. see ڐبانا ḍubānā. ڐبودينا ḍubo denā, v. a. To exhaust, to ruin, to demolish, to drown.

ڐيـﮩڙ ḍehuṛ H s. f. A volley, several muskets dis- charged at once. ذ ذ Called ذال معجمه and ذال ثخذ is the ninth letter of the Arabic alphabet. Its existence in Persian, except as a substitute for د (see د), appears very doubtful. It is pronounced by the Arabs like th in the English word thou; but, in Hindūstānī, its sound is not to be dis- tinguished from that of ز z. In denoting num- bers by the letters of the Arabic alphabet, it stands for 700: and, by way of abbreviation, it is written for ذوالحجه the last month of the Arabic lunar year. If ذ be the first radical of an Arabic verb, the ت in the form افتعال is changed into د, and either the د or ذ is changed into the other of the two, which is doubled; as, from ذکر comes اذّکر or ادّکر.

ڐاکي ḍākī H adj. Gluttonous.

ڐاکا ḍākā H s. m. An attack by robbers. ڐاکا پڙنا يا دينا يا ڐالنا ḍākā-paṛnā, or -denā, or ḍāl- nā, To rob.
