دانت dānt दंत S̱. s. m. A tooth. دانت انگلي کاٿنا dānt unglī kāṭnā, To bite the finger, is a term expressive of being surprised. دانت باجنا dānt bājnā, or دانت بجنا dānt bajnā, v. n. To chatter the teeth, to squabble, wrangle, chattering of the teeth, squabbling, wrangling, spar- ring. دانت پتهرپوگهسنا dānt patthar po ghisnā (dakh. i. q. هوس کرنا) To desire, to covet (?). دانت پرچڙهانا dānt par chaṛhānā, To detract from the virtues or praise of another. دانت پيسنا dānt pīsnā, To gnash the teeth, to grin. دانت تلي انگلي دبانا يا کاٿنا dānt tale unglī-da- bānā or -kāṭnā, To stand in amaze, to be amazed, to wonder. دانت رکهنا يا هونا کسي پر dānt-rakhnā or -honā kisī par, 1. To desire any thing exceedingly. 2. To hate. دانت سلسلانا dānt salsalānā (dakh.) To ache or pain the teeth. دانت کاٿي روٿي کهانا dānt kāṭī roṭī khānā, To be the most intimate friend of any one. دانت کٿکٿانا dānt kaṭkaṭānā, v. a. To gnash the teeth. دانت کچکچانا dānt kachka- chānā, To grin, to shew the teeth. دانت کهٿي کرنا dānt khaṭṭe karnā, To dishearten, to dis- please. دانت لانا يا نکالنا dānt-lānā or -nikālnā, To teeth, grow (as teeth). دانت نکالنا dant- nikālnā, 1. داعيه dāʼīﻌya A (from دعا) s. m. Petition, plaint, desire, wish.

ديوٿ dīwaṭ S̱. (from दीप) s. f. A lamp-stand.

دهيم dhīm H s. m. 1. Slowness. 2. Gentleness.

ديساکهـ desākh H s. m. Name of a rāginī, or musical mode, sung at noon in the spring.

دلکنا dalaknā H v. n. To glitter.

دعوت daﻌwat A s. f. 1. Invitation, convocation, benediction. 2. Pressing people to become Musalmāns. 3. Pretension. 4. A feast, banquet. دعوت کرني daﻌwat-karnī, To invite.
