داد مردن dād-mardan S̱. (Sans. दद्रुमर्द्दन) s. m. Name of a plant, used to cure the ringworm. (Cassia alata).

دهرماتما dharm-ātmā S (धर्मात्मा) adj. Vir- tuous, just, holy, pious.

دام dāma A v. past tense. 3d pers. sing. mas. (from دوم) May (it) be perpetual. دام دولته dāma daulatuhu, May his fortune or prosperity continue. دام ظله يا ظلـﮩم dāma-z̤illuhu or -z̤il- luhum, May his or their prosperity continue.

دوال doʼāl P s. f. A leather strap, a belt. دوال پا doʼāl-pā, adj. 1. Webfooted. 2. A fabulous race with legs like thongs, who are said to deceive and devour unwary travellers.

دهمال dhammāl H s. m. Running through fire on religious occasions (among Musalmān faḳīrs). ¶ dhamāl, s. m. 1. See دهمار dhamār, sign. 1. 2. Kind of song which is sung during the holī.

دوبي dobe S̱. (द्विवेदी Knowing two veds) s. m. A title of brāhmaṇs.

دره dirra A s. m. A scourge.

دوڙا dauṛā H s. m. 1. A large basket (without lid). See دورا daurā. 2. (from s̱. دوڙنا q. v.) A highwayman (who robs on horseback).

دهيٿائيگي dhīṭ-āʼegī S̱. s. f. (dakh.) Boldness: see ڐهٿهائي ḍhiṭhāʼī.
