داروغه dārog̠ẖa P s. m. The head man of an office, a superintendent, inspector, manager, di- rector, intendant, overseer.

دفن dafn A s. m. Burial, hiding, concealing. دفن کرنا dafn karnā, To bury, to hide, to conceal. دفن هونا dafn honā, To be buried. A. H. دفنانا dafnānā (from دفن) v. a. To bury.

دراچاري दुराचारी dur-āchārī S adj. Irre- ligious, wicked, profligate.

دهڙلا dhaṛallā H s. m. 1. The sound of hammering, &c. 2. Frightening, alarming, bullying, bravado. 3. A crowd.

داهنا dāhinā S̱. or dāhnā, adj. Right (opposite to left. Sans. दक्षिण South or right; because the earth, the navel of which corresponds to Hindūstān, has its head to the west, its feet to the east, the right side to the south, and the left to the north; or, perhaps, from the position of eastern people in adoration of the sun. In Arab. شمال denotes the north or left: and, this agrees with the manner in which the Roman augurs determined the regions of the heavens, according to Livy, I. 18.).

دغدغا dag̠ẖdag̠ẖā A. s. m. Alarm, disturbance, tumult, fear, dread, awe.

دهان dahān P s. m. The mouth, an orifice.

دشٿتا दुष्टता dush̤ṭa-tā S s. f. Wickedness, de- pravity, badness.

دوبهنيان dobhnyān S̱. (द्विवाहुमान् With two hands) adj. Two-fisted, ambidextrous, strong.
