دريودهن दुर्योधन duryodhan S s. m. The elder of the Kuru princes, and leader in the war against his cousins the Pāṇḍavs and Kr̤ish̤ṇa, which was the subject of the Mahābhārat.

Others make it the dialect of a certain district, comprehending Balkh, Bukhārā, Badakhshān, Marū-Shāh-Jān, and Bāmiyān. The name is by some said to be derived from dara, a valley among hills; which corresponds with its origin in Badakh- shān and the mountainous part of Kandhār. Others assert that it was spoken at the court of the monarchs of the Kaiānian dynasty, and derive the name from dar a gate or dargāh a
