ديسنا dīsnā S̱. (r. दृश See) v. n. To look, to seem, to appear, to be visible.

دنيا dunyā A (either as being near and present or as worthless, from دنو) s. f. 1. The world. 2. (met.) People, goods of the world. دنيا پواتاني پڙنا dunyā po utāne paṛnā (dakh.) To be proud or haughty. دنيا دار dunyā-dār, Worldly, a person of the world. دنيا داري dunyā-dār-ī, s. f. Economy, worldliness, attention to the concerns of the world. دنيا طلبي dunyā-t̤alab-ī, s. f. Seeking the goods of the world, worldliness.

دهامن dhāmin H s. m. 1. A kind of serpent (which is said to suck cows and to be harmless). 2. A kind of wood. 3. A kind of bamboo.

دوکهنا dokh̤nā S̱. (दोषण r. दुष Be polluted) v. a. To accuse, to calumniate, to blame. S̱.H. دوگاڙا do-gāṛā or dugāṛā, adj. 1. Twice, dou- ble. 2. A musket carrying two balls.

دانش dānish P (from دانستن) s. f. Knowledge, science, learning.

دوازده duwāzda P adj. Twelve.

دخيل daḵẖīl A (from دخل) 1. adj. Intimate, fa- miliar. 2. Admitted, allowed entrance; adopt- ed (a word). 3. s. m. A friend, a confidant, an accomplice. دخيل هونا daḵẖīl honā, To meddle, to intermeddle (in).

درميان dar-miyān P 1. s. m. Interval, middle, midst. 2. adv. postpos. or prepos. In the midst, between, before, in view. درميان دينا darmiyān denā, To employ as a mediator. درميان لانا dar-miyān lānā, To introduce (a dis- course, &c.).

دستي dast-ī P s. f. A torch or link that is carried in the hands. adj. Of or from the hand, manual.

ديوراني dewrānī, dyaurānī S̱. or diwrānī (from देवर) s. f. Husbandʼs younger brotherʼs wife.
