دهاپ dhāp S̱. s. f. 1. A foot-measure. 2. As far as a man can run without taking breath. (Sans. धाव Running).

دغلي dag̠ẖlī P s. f. Treachery, villainy, fraud. P. H. دغنا dag̠ẖnā (from داغ) v. n. 1. To be fired off (as, a gun). 2. To be marked. A. H. دغوليا dag̠ẖoliyā (from دغل) s. m. An im- postor. P. A. H. دغيلا dag̠ẖīlā, adj. 1. (from داغ) Stained, spotted. 2. (from دغل) Deceitful.

دهوني dhūnī S̱. (from धूम) s. f. 1. Persevering. 2. Smoke. 3. A fire lighted by a Hindū faḳīr, over which he sits, imbibing the smoke, by way of penance. It is often practised by them, in the manner of dharnā, to extort compliance with their demands. Hence دهوني دينا dhūnī denā, To dun, to importune: to smoke. دهوني لگاني dhūnī lagānī, To insist obstinately, or to persevere in a demand. 4. Fumigation by way of exorcising one possessed; or, as a medical application. دهوني لينا dhūnī lenā, To inhale smoke, or undergo fumigation.

دعوت daﻌwat A s. f. 1. Invitation, convocation, benediction. 2. Pressing people to become Musalmāns. 3. Pretension. 4. A feast, banquet. دعوت کرني daﻌwat-karnī, To invite.

دهجي dhajjī S̱. (from ध्वज) s. f. A slip of cloth or paper, a shred. دهجيان اڙانا dhajjiyaṅ uṛānā, To disgrace, to expose one to infamy. دهجيان کرنا dhajjiyāṅ karnā, To tear to pieces.

دهکڙپکڙ dhukuṛ pukuṛ H s. Palpitation, agitation.

دمبهي दंभी dambhī S adj. Proud.

دوشينه dosh-īna P adj. Of last night. s. A shoulderʼs load, what is carried on the shoulder.

درزن darzan P s. f. A needle.

دهمال dhammāl H s. m. Running through fire on religious occasions (among Musalmān faḳīrs). ¶ dhamāl, s. m. 1. See دهمار dhamār, sign. 1. 2. Kind of song which is sung during the holī.
