دهد هچهر dhadhhachchhar S̱. or dadhachchhar, (दग्धाक्षर Burnt letters) s. m. In versifica- tion, certain words or letters, which are reckoned by poets to be unlucky. (The letters ह ग न in the beginning of a verse, र ज स in the

دمڙا damṛā S̱. (from द्रम्म) s. m. Gold, silver, riches.

دپدپانا يا دپدپ کرنا dapdapānā H or dapdap- karnā, v. a. To shine.

دهڙا dhaṛā H s. m. 1. A party. 2. A weight. دهڙا باندهنا dhaṛā bāndhnā, To make up a standard to weigh by, with bricks or any thing else; as, by having one weight (of a pound, suppose) it is doubled, quadrupled, and so on, till the weight requisite is obtained.

S̱. درگذرکرنا dar-guẕar karnā, v. a. To pass over, to neglect, to excuse, overlook, forgive. P. H. درگذرنا dar-guẕarnā, v. n. To decline, to leave off, to abstain or refrain (from), to pass by or over. P. H. درگرفت کرنا dar-girift karnā, v. a. To catch, to seize, to captivate.

دهننتري dhanantarī S̱. 1. (धन्वन्तरि) n. prop. The name of a physician in the court of Indra. 2. (धनवत्तर) adj. Powerful, strong.

دنگ dang P adj. 1. Astonished. 2. Careless, foolish.

دند dund S̱. or dundu, s. A large kettledrum. See دندبهي dundubhī.
