دگلا daglā H s. m. A kind of quilted vest worn as armour. S. دگمبر दिगंबर (दिग् inflect. of दिश् Space, and अंबर Clothing) dig-ambar, 1. adj. Naked. 2. s. m. An order of Hindū asceticks, who go naked: they are worshippers of Siva. 3. A mendicant of the sect of Buddha, going naked or wearing coloured clothes.

دفله dafla P s. m. A smaller tambourin.

درياچه daryā-cha P s. m. A small sea, a lake.

داواگن दावाग्नि dāvāgni S s. f. The conflagra- tion of a forest, kindled by a tempest or some other cause.

دهل duhal P (or duhul) s. m. A drum.

دشٿتا दुष्टता dush̤ṭa-tā S s. f. Wickedness, de- pravity, badness.

دشت dasht P s. m. A desert, a forest. دشت گرد dasht-gard or دشت نورد dasht-naward, A traveller of deserts. دشت گردي dasht-gard-ī, s. f. The travelling or wandering over deserts. دشت هو dasht-i-hū, A desert void of all but God.

ديوڙيوان dewṛī-wān H s. m. (dakh.) A door-keeper, porter.

درهم dirham A (from p. درم) s. m. 1. Money. 2. A silver coin, of which from 20 to 25 have at different times passed current for a dīnār, which latter is nearly equal to a ducat, or se- quin, about 9 shillings. (Pl. دراهم).
