دهوپ धूप dhūp S s. f. A perfume burnt by Hindūs at the time of worshipping. دهوپ داني dhūp-dānī, s. f. A pot for keeping dhūp. H. S̱. دهوپکالا dhūp-kālā (from دهوپ Sunshine, and काल Time, weather, season) s. m. The hot weather.

دوارکا द्वारिका dwārikā S s. f. Name of a Hindū holy place on the shore of the western sea, near the mouth of the gulf of Cutch. دوارکا ناتهـ द्वारिकानाथ dwārikā-nāth, Master of dwā- rikā, i. e. Kr̤ish̤ṇa.

دادو dādū H n. prop. Name of a celebrated faḳīr. دادو پنتهي dādū-panthī, Follower of Dādū.

دس दश das S adj. Ten. دسون دسا dasoṅ disā, The ten regions, sides or quarters (of the world, as mentioned under دکپال dik-pāl, q. v.). دسون دوار dasoṅ dwār, The ten passages for the actions of the faculties; namely, the eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, penis, anus, and crown of the head. (It seems, however, that properly there are only nine, the last not being acknowledged in any Sanskrit works of authority which have been consulted).
