ادهیانا adhyānā S̱. (from آدها ādhā, q. v.) v. a. To halve, to divide.

آويزه āwez-a P s. m. An earring, drops worn in the ear, a pendant.

اپربها अप्रभा a-prabhā S s. f. Want of splen- dour; darkness, dullness.

ادک उदक udak S s. m. Water.

اخ aḵẖ A s. m. Brother. uḵẖ, Imitative sound of coughing. اخ اخ aḵẖ aḵẖ, An exclamation of joy, ah!

انياي अन्याय a-nyāʼe S or a-nyāya, s. m. Injus- tice, impropriety, outrage. S. انيابي अन्यायी (from انياي अन्याय q. v.) a-nyāyī, adj. Unjust, oppressive, lawless.

الالنا ulālnā S̱. (caus. of اللنا ulalnā, q. v.) v. a. To overset, to lay over to one side.

اگال ugāl S̱. (उत् and r. गल Eat) s. m. That which is spit out after chewing any thing (es- pecially, betel leaf). آپ کا اگال میرا ادهار āp kā ugāl merā adhār, Your worshipʼs leavings are my nourishment; i e. You, Sir, are my support and benefactor. S̱. P. اگالدان ugāl-dān, s. m. A spitting-box.

افضل afẓal A adj. compar. (of فاضل) More or most excellent, preeminent.

اولا olā S̱. (ओल adj. Wet) s. m. 1. Hail. 2. The name of a kind of sweetmeat. اولاهوجانا olā hojānā, To become cold. جون سرمنڐاياتون اولي پڙي joṅ sir munḍāyā toṅ ole paṛe, I had no sooner shaved my head than a shower of hail came on. (Spoken of one who has just en- gaged in an enterprise which turns out unfortu- nate).
