داٴود dāʼūd A (Heb. from Beloved) n. prop. Name of a prophet, David.

ديوان dīwān P s. m. 1. A tribunal, divan. 2. A steward, a minister or secretary. 3. A book of poems, the rhymes of the different poems ending successively with every letter of the al- phabet. ديوان اعليٰ dīwān-i-aﻌlạ̄, s. m. A prime minister, wazīr. ديوان خاص dīwān-i-ḵẖāṣṣ, s. m. Privy council chamber, cabinet-council. ديوان خانه dīwān-ḵẖāna, 1. A tribunal, an office. 2. دوس dos S̱. (दोष r. दुष Be defiled, &c.) s. m. Crime, fault, blame. دوس هونا dos honā, To be sick after childbirth, from neglect of regi- men.

دلـﮩ‍ن dulhan H or dulhin, s. f. A bride.

ديکهنا dekhnā S̱. (r. दृश See) v. a. To see, to look at, view, observe, mark, inspect, behold, perceive, to experience. ديکهنا بهالنا dekhnā bhāl- nā, To see, to look at. ديکها ديکهي dekhā- dekhī, s. f. Emulation, competition, the looking at each other or being within sight (of objects).
