دوڙانا dauṛānā S̱. (caus. of دوڙنا) v. a. To cause to run or gallop, to run, to drive, to impel, to ac- tuate, to expedite, speed, despatch.

درهم dirham A (from p. درم) s. m. 1. Money. 2. A silver coin, of which from 20 to 25 have at different times passed current for a dīnār, which latter is nearly equal to a ducat, or se- quin, about 9 shillings. (Pl. دراهم).

درخواست darḵẖẉāst P (from درخواستن To wish, petition) s. f. Application, request, entreaty, proposal, desire, wish, demand, petition, appeal, or petition of appeal. درخواست کرنا darḵẖẉāst karnā, To beseech, request, entreat, require, beg, seek, propose.

دروازه darwāza P s. m. Door. دروازه ٿهوکنا dar- wāza ṭhoknā, To knock at the door. دروازه تيغه هونا darwāza teg̠ẖa honā, Implies a doorʼs being built up with bricks and mortar. دروازه معمورکرنا darwāza maﻌmūr karnā, To close a door.

دهندها dhandhā H s. m. Business, employment, work, avocation, occupation.

دشٿ dishṭ S̱. s. f. For درشٿ dr̤ishṭ, q. v.

دبنا dabnā H v. n. 1. To be snubbed, to crouch, shrink, be pressed down, be bowed down, give way, to be awed. 2. To be concealed. دب آنا dab-ānā, v. n. To advance. دب جانا dab jānā, To retire, to withdraw, to be mortified, to be suppressed. دب چلنا يا نکلنا dab-chalnā or -nikalnā, To be awed, to be overpowered. دب مرنا dab marnā, To be crushed to death. دبي پانو dabe-pāṅw or دبي پاون dabe-pāoṅ, With silent steps, softly, gently.

موست dost P s. m. 1. A friend, a lover. 2. A sweetheart. دوستدار dost-dār, s. m. (vulg. dos-dār) 1. A friend. 2. A sweetheart. دوستداري dost-dār-ī (vulg. dosdār-ī) s. f. Friendship, love. دوست رکهنا dost rakhnā, To like, to hold dear. دوست نما dost-numā, Friend-appearing, seeming friend. دوست نواز dost-nawāz, Che- risher of friends. (Plur. دوستان dostān, Friends).
