دست dast P s. m. 1. Hand, cubit. 2. Tame, familia- rized, tractable. 2. Skilful, dexterous. دست انداز dast-andāz, 1. He who commences a business. 2. An oppressor, a plunderer. دست آويز dast-āwez, s. f. What a man takes with him as the means of promoting his suit; what a man gets into his hand and depends on; a small present which may be given into the hands of a person whose favour is sought, a signature, a note of hand, bond, title-deed, cer- tificate, &c. دست بدست dast ba-dast, 1.

داماساه dāmāsāh H n. prop. Name of a mer- chant, who dying insolvent, his effects were di- vided among his creditors in proportion to their claims.

دگلا daglā H s. m. A kind of quilted vest worn as armour. S. دگمبر दिगंबर (दिग् inflect. of दिश् Space, and अंबर Clothing) dig-ambar, 1. adj. Naked. 2. s. m. An order of Hindū asceticks, who go naked: they are worshippers of Siva. 3. A mendicant of the sect of Buddha, going naked or wearing coloured clothes.

دال dāl S̱. (दल r. दल Divide, tear asunder) s. f. Pulse, vetches. دال گلني کسي کي dāl galnī kisī kī, v. n. To have an advantage, to avail.

دباره dubāra P adv. Twice, again. See دوباره do-bāra under دو do.

دبکيلا dabkīlā H adj. Sculking, sculker.
