آب دار āb-dār P (آب q. v. and دار Having) s. m. The person entrusted with the charge of water for drinking: any thing full of water or splendour, as fruits, jewels, pearls, swords. adj. Polished, clear, of a good water (as gems), well tempered (as steel), sharp (as a sword).

آب داري āb-dār-ī P s. f. The having water; the brilliancy (of gems), temper or polish (of steel), sharpness (of a sword).

آب دانه āb-dāna P s. m. Drink and food.

آب دندان āb-i-dandān P s. Sharpness and polish of the teeth. āb-dandān, 1. s. Watering of the mouth; weakness, trouble, crime or fault, a kind of pear, a kind of pomegranate, a kind of sweetmeat. 2. adj. Bad, weak, subjected, silly, base, in vain, useless.

آباداني ābādān-i P s. f. A habitation, a cultivated, inhabited, populous, or pleasant place; population, cultivation, prosperity, abundance.

آتش انداز ātash-andāz P adj. Casting out fire.

آتش دان ātash-dān P s. A chafingdish, a fire- place, any receptacle for fire, a brazier.

آدا ādā S̱. (आर्द्र or आर्द्रक) s. m. Ginger in the undried state.

آداب ādāb A s. m. (plur. of ادب adab) Ceremo- nies, devoirs, etiquette, politeness, forms of ad- dress in writing and speaking, salutation, respects.
