خواه ḵẖẉāh P 1. part. act. (of خواستن) in compos. Wishing, requiring, soliciting, desiring; as, ترقيخواه taraḳḳī-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing increase. دولتخواه daulat-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing prosperity. 2. conj. Either, or, whether. 3. part. pass. as, خاطرخواه ḵẖāt̤ir-ḵẖẉāh, The desire of oneʼs heart. خواه مخواه ḵẖẉāh ma-ḵẖẉāh or خواه نخواه ḵẖẉāh na-ḵẖẉāh or خواهي نه خواهي ḵẖẉāhī na ḵẖẉāhī, adv. 1. Willing or not willing, nolens volens. 2. Certainly, positively, abso- lutely, at all events.

خس ḵẖas P s. f. 1. The name of a grass of the roots of which ṭaṭṭīs are made. (Andropogon muricatum). 2. Any useless herb or stick. خس پوش ḵẖas-posh, adj. Covered with thorns. خس وخار ḵẖas o ḵẖār, or خس و خاشاک ḵẖas-o-ḵẖāshāk, s. m. Litter of things, rubbish.

خوران ḵẖorān P n. prop. Name of one of the warriours of Kai Ḵẖusrau son of Siyāwush.

خول ḵẖol S̱. (for کهول q. v.) s. m. A case, sheath, hollow.

خجلت ḵẖijlat A (proper. ḵẖajlat) s. f. Blush, shame, &c. see خجالت ḵẖijālat. خجلت اٿهاني يا کهاني ḵẖijlat-uṭhānī or -ḵẖānī, To blush.

خاطف ḵẖāt̤if A part. act. (of خطف Heb. ) Snatching away (the sight). A. P. خاقان ḵẖāḳān, s. m. A king, an emperour. A. P. خاقاني ḵẖāḳān-ī, adj. 1. Royal, imperial. 2. n. prop. Name of a most celebrated poet of Persia.

خريد ḵẖarīd P (from خريدن) 1. in compos. part. pass. Bought. 2. s. f. Purchase. خريد فروخت ḵẖarīd faroḵẖt, Buying and selling. خريد کا مول ḵẖarīd kā mol, s. m. Prime cost.

خوابيده ḵẖẉābīda P (from خوابيدن) part. Sleeping, asleep.

خلف ḵẖalaf A s. m. 1. A successour, an heir, a favourite son, posterity, descendants. 2. (ad- jectively) Depraved, corrupted. خلف الصدق ḵẖalafu-ṣ-ṣidḳ, True or rightful heir. ¶ ḵẖulf, Breach of promise.
