Householder. خانه داري ḵẖāna-dār-ī, s. f. The state of the master of a family, housekeeping. خانه داماد ḵẖāna-dāmād, A son-in-law who lives in the house of his wifeʼs father. خانه دوست ḵẖāna-dost, Fond of staying at home. (A term of abuse). خانه زاد ḵẖāna-zād, The child of a slave. خانهٴ زنجير ḵẖāna-i-zanjīr, A prison or mad-house. خانه سوز ḵẖāna-soz, House-burner, incendiary. خانه نشين ḵẖāna-nishīn, Sitting in the house; retired, unemployed.

ختن ḵẖutan P n. prop. A country in Turkistān, Tartary or the north of China, famous for musk.

خطبه ḵẖut̤ba A s. m. A sermon or oration de- livered after divine service every Friday, in which the preacher blesses Muhammad, his successours, and the reigning sovereign.

خمره ḵẖumra A (from خمر) s. m. 1. A small mat of palm leaves for kneeling on at prayers. 2. A small drum carried by beggars. 3. A small earthen pot in which leaven is prepared and kept.

خوابيده ḵẖẉābīda P (from خوابيدن) part. Sleeping, asleep.

خصوصيت ḵẖuṣūṣiyat A s. f. Peculiarity, parti- cularity, singularity, attachment, friendship.

خالصه ḵẖāliṣ-a A 1. adj. Pure. 2. s. m. An office of government in which the business of the revenue department is transacted; exche- quer. 3. Land held immediately from govern- ment.

خول ḵẖol S̱. (for کهول q. v.) s. m. A case, sheath, hollow.
