خالصه ḵẖāliṣ-a A 1. adj. Pure. 2. s. m. An office of government in which the business of the revenue department is transacted; exche- quer. 3. Land held immediately from govern- ment.

خادم ḵẖādim A part. act. (from خدمت) used substantively, A servant. خادم لطلبا ḵẖādimu-t̤- t̤ulabā, A public teacher, a professor (of a col- lege). خادم درگاه ḵẖādim-i-dargāh, A servant who takes care of a tomb, mosque, &c. (Pers. plur. خادمان ḵẖādimān).

خرما ḵẖurmā P s. m. A date (the fruit of the Phœnix dactylifera).

خربزه ḵẖarbuza P s. m. A muskmelon.

خانقاه ḵẖānḳāh A s. f. A monastery.

خوانده ḵẖẉānda P part. pass. (of خواندن) Read; (adjectively) Having the knowledge of reading and writing. نا خوانده nā-ḵẖẉānda, adj. Igno- ramus, one who cannot read.

خوري ḵẖụr-ī P in compos. s. f. Eating, enduring.

خن ḵẖinn A s. m. The hold of a ship.

خناس ḵẖannās A (from خنس To abscond, to retire; to backbite, to calumniate: because, says Jauharī, he flees when God is named: perhaps rather, like *diabolos, The accuser) s. m. 1. The devil. 2. (met.) A wicked person.
