خورديا ḵẖụrdiyā P. s. m. A moneychanger.

خواه ḵẖẉāh P 1. part. act. (of خواستن) in compos. Wishing, requiring, soliciting, desiring; as, ترقيخواه taraḳḳī-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing increase. دولتخواه daulat-ḵẖẉāh, Wishing prosperity. 2. conj. Either, or, whether. 3. part. pass. as, خاطرخواه ḵẖāt̤ir-ḵẖẉāh, The desire of oneʼs heart. خواه مخواه ḵẖẉāh ma-ḵẖẉāh or خواه نخواه ḵẖẉāh na-ḵẖẉāh or خواهي نه خواهي ḵẖẉāhī na ḵẖẉāhī, adv. 1. Willing or not willing, nolens volens. 2. Certainly, positively, abso- lutely, at all events.

خضاب ḵẖiẓāb A (from خضب) s. m. 1. Tinc- ture. 2. Tinging the nails and hair, but par- ticularly the beard. خضاب آهني کرنا ḵẖiẓāb-i-āhanī karnā, To shave the beard.

خود ḵẖod P s. m. A helmet.

خياط ḵẖaiyāt̤ A (adj. superl. of خيط Ch. To thread) s. m. A tailor.

خدا ḵẖudā P s. m. God. خدا پرست ḵẖudā- parast, adj. God-worshipper, godly. خداپرستي ḵẖudā-parast-ī, s. f. The worship of God. خدا ترس ḵẖudā-tars (ترس part. act. of ترسيدن To fear) adj. 1. Fearing God. 2. Virtuous. خدا خدا کرکي ḵẖudā ḵẖudā karke, With difficulty, by hook or by crook. خدا حافظ ḵẖudā ḥāfiz̤, God (is) the protector; adieu, farewell. خدا داني ḵẖudā-dān-ī, s. f. The knowledge of God. خدا شناس ḵẖudā-shinās, adj. Knowing God. خداشناسي ḵẖudā-shinās-ī, s. f. Knowledge of God. خدا طلبي ḵẖudā-t̤alab-ī, s. f. The seeking of God. خدا کا نام لينا ḵẖudā kā nām lenā, (dakh. i. q. انصاف کرنا) To administer justice, to decide (?). خدا کرکر ḵẖudā karkar (dakh. i. q. ناگاه) Suddenly. خدا کري ḵẖudā kare, Would to God. خدا کيا کري ḵẖudā kyā kare, What will fate produce? or what is the will of God? (an expression used in doubtful circum- stances). خدا کي ماري هونا ḵẖudā ke māre honā, To be unfortunate, to suffer by the decrees of fate. خدانخواسته ḵẖudā na-ḵẖẉāsta, or خدا نا کرده ḵẖudā nā karda, God forbid!

خاشاک ḵẖāshāk P s. m. Sweepings, chips, leaves, shavings, rubbish.

خاک ḵẖāk P s. f. Dust, earth; ashes. خاکبازي ḵẖāk-bāz-ī, s. f. Playing with dust. خاکپا ḵẖāk- pā, s. f. Dust of the feet, earth trodden under

خنجري ḵẖanjar-ī A. s. f. 1. A mode of printing, or staining silk (gulbadan). 2. A small tam- bourin.

خنيا ḵẖunyā P s. m. Melody, singing. خنيا گر ḵẖunyā-gar, s. m. Musician, minstrel, singer. خنيا گري ḵẖunyā-gar-ī, s. f. Minstrelsy.
