حمله ḥamla A s. m. 1. Attack, onset, assault, storm. 2. (fig.) Concubitus. حمله آور ḥamla- āwar, Attacking. حمله کرنا ḥamla karnā, To attack, to assault, to storm, to assail, attempt.

حجله ḥajla A (vulg. ḥujla) s. m. 1. The female partridge. 2. The ornamented chamber where the bride sits, the curtain which hangs before her, the marriage-bed.

حنظل ḥanz̤al A s. Coloquinteda or bitter apple, colocynth.

حضار ḥuẓẓār A s. plur. (of حاضر) The present, the people present, attendants.

حليم ḥalīm A (from حلم) adj. Mild, affable, cle- ment, unassuming, tractable. 2. A kind of food dressed in the Muḥarram.

حبل ḥabl A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. Rope, cord. 2. A league, alliance, compact. حبل الوريد ḥablu-l-warīd, Jugular vein.

حسرت ḥasrat A (from حسر Heb. Defect, want, privation) s. f. Regret, grief, desire. حسرت آلوده ḥasrat-ālūda, adj. Overwhelmed with grief. حسرت زده ḥasrat-zada, adj. Wo- begone, afflicted. حسرت کشته ḥasrat-kushta, Killed with grief.

حلقه ḥalḳa A s. m. 1. A ring, a circle, an as- sembly, a fraternity. 2. A kind of firework. 3. A knocker (of a door). حلقه بگوش ḥalḳa- ba-gosh, A slave, a servant: i. e. One who wears a ring in his ear, as a badge of servitude. حلقه بگوشي ḥalḳa ba-gosh-ī, s. f. Servitude, slavery. حلقه زن ḥalḳa-zan, Knocking (at a door).

حلف ḥalf A s. An oath.

حشفه ḥashafa A s. m. Glans penis.
