حقا ḥaḳḳā A adv. Really, truly, by God.

حلم ḥilm A (from حلم He dreamt, was mild and long suffering. Heb. To be fat, healthy, to dream: or, rather, transposed from To indulge, to spare) s. m. Gentleness, clemency, mildness, affability, gravity, wisdom. بي حلم be ḥilm, adj. Merciless, severe.

حزن ḥuzn A s. m. Grief, sadness, affliction, sorrow (plur. احزان aḥzān).

حناٴي ḥinnā-ī A adj. Of the colour of ḥinnā, stained with ḥinnā.

حسب ḥasab A (Heb. He computed, es- timated) s. m. 1. Pedigree, nobility. 2. Num- ber, computation. 3. Quantity, measure, pro- portion, value. 4. Way, mode, manner. 5. Religion. حسب ونسب ḥasab-o-nasab, s. m. Pedigree, lineage.

حب ḥabb A s. f. 1. A berry, grain of corn, fruit, &c. 2. (usually in Hind.) A pill. (Pl. حبوب ḥubūb).

حرم ḥaram A 1. adj. (Heb. ) Sacred, for- bidden. 2. s. m. The temple of Mecca, a sanctuary. 3. s. f. A concubine. 4. A daugh- ter, womenʼs apartments, a seraglio, a harem.
