حواصل ḥawāṣil A (from حصل) s. m. 1. plur. of حوصله q. v. 2. An animal of whose skin they make garments. 3. A pelican.

حديقه ḥadīḳa A s. m. A garden.

حسرت ḥasrat A (from حسر Heb. Defect, want, privation) s. f. Regret, grief, desire. حسرت آلوده ḥasrat-ālūda, adj. Overwhelmed with grief. حسرت زده ḥasrat-zada, adj. Wo- begone, afflicted. حسرت کشته ḥasrat-kushta, Killed with grief.

حمر ḥumr A adj. Red. (Heb. ).

حال ḥāl A (from حال Heb. Turned, passed, changed) s. m. 1. State, condition, case. 2. Business, affair, matter, circumstance. 3. Pre- sent time, the present. 4. Ecstacy. (Plur. احوال aḥwāl). حال آنا ḥāl ānā, To be in- spired, to be thrown into ecstacies. حال انکه ḥāl ānki, adv. حمامي ḥammām-ī A s. m. A keeper of a bath or an attendant at a bath.

حله ḥulla A s. m. A robe, a garment.

حقوق ḥuḳūḳ A s. m. plur. (of حقّ) Rights, dues, just claims, laws.

حکما ḥukamā A s. plur. (of حکيم) Philosophers, sages, physicians.

حدت ḥiddat A s. f. 1. The edge of a sword. 2. Keenness, acuteness, acrimony, passion, ve- hemence, impetuosity, poignancy, virulence.
