چهاتي chhātī छत्र S̱. s. f. An umbrella.

چسکا chaskā H s. m. Love, ardent desire, a re- lish, habit, custom.

چومکها chau-mukh-ā S̱. (चतुर्मुख Four-faced) 1. adj. Having four burners, &c. (a lamp). 2. s. m. A lamp-stand with four partitions. 3. A kind of پٿا paṭā, q. v.

چلانا chalānā S̱. (चालन or caus. of چلنا q. v.) v. a. 1. To impel, set a going, make to go or pass, to drive, actuate, direct. 2. To fire a musket or cannon, to shoot at, to do, hasten, forward, send, accustom, act, advance, utter, throw, thrust, use, walk.

چهلانگ chhalāng H s. f. Skipping, jumping, a spring, skip, leap. چهلانگين مارنا chhalāngeṅ mārnā, To spring, to jump.

چوک chauk H s. m. 1. A market. 2. A square of a city. 3. A court-yard. 4. A square place filled, at marriages and on other occasions of rejoicing, with sweetmeats, which after certain ceremonies are distributed. چوک بهرنا يا پورنا chauk-bharnā or -pūrnā, To fill a chauk or square with coloured meal, perfumes, sweet- meats, &c. on some occasion of rejoicing. چوک پٿا chauk-paṭṭā, A seat on which the people sit and eat in the chaukā.

چهوهي chhoh-ī S̱. (from چهوه) adj. 1. Affection- ate. 2. Angry.
