چاهک chāhak S̱. (from چاهنا) adj. Affectionate.

چارپاٴي chār-pā-ī P s. f. 1. A bedstead, a bed. چارپاٴي پرپڙنا chārpāʼī par paṛnā, To get sick. 2. A litter for carrying the sick.

چوپاڙ chau-pāṛ S̱. s. m. 1. (चतुष्पाटिका) A kind of summerhouse or pavilion (generally built jointly by several people as a resting place common to them all). 2. (चतुष्पाद) A qua- druped, an animal, a beast.

چپانا chapānā H v. a. 1. To abash. 2. To place one thing on another, to pile.

چهنانا chhinānā H v. a. To seize, snatch, pluck, &c. See چهينا chhīnnā.

چموکن chamūkan H s. m. A tick or louse infesting cattle. S̱.چميٿاchameṭā (चपेट) s. m. Box, thump, blow.

چنگ chang P s. f. 1. A claw. 2. The hand expanded. 3. A kind of guitar, a harp. 4. Fame, report. 5. A paper kite which they fly at night. 6. The name of a suit at cards: see under تاج tāj. چنگ نوازي chang-nawāz-ī, s. f. Playing on the guitar, &c.

چهايانٿ chhāyānaṭ S̱. s. m. Name of a Rāg or musical mode.

چٿني chaṭnī H 1. s. f. A kind of acid sauce (or marmalade). 2. adj. f. Voracious (woman).

چمٿنا chimaṭnā H v. n. To adhere, to stick.
