چهت chhat छत्र S̱. s. f. A roof, a cloth stretched across the roof of a room, a platform. چهت بنانا پاٿنا يا لگانا chhat-banānā, -pāṭnā or -la- gānā, v. a. To ceil, to cover the inner roof of a building.

چوک chauk H s. m. 1. A market. 2. A square of a city. 3. A court-yard. 4. A square place filled, at marriages and on other occasions of rejoicing, with sweetmeats, which after certain ceremonies are distributed. چوک بهرنا يا پورنا chauk-bharnā or -pūrnā, To fill a chauk or square with coloured meal, perfumes, sweet- meats, &c. on some occasion of rejoicing. چوک پٿا chauk-paṭṭā, A seat on which the people sit and eat in the chaukā.

چولاٴي chaulāʼī H s. f. A kind of vegetable. (Amaranthus polygamus). S̱. H. چولڙا chau-laṛ-ā, s. m. A necklace of four strings. S̱. H. چولڙي chau-laṛ-ī, s. f. A necklace of four strings.

چادر chādar P s. f. 1. A sheet. 2. A cascade. چادربچهانا chādar bichhānā, To lay the cloth.

چهيجنا chhījnā H v. n. To decrease, to pine away. ديکها ديکهي کيجي جوگ چهيجي کايا باڙهي روگ dekhā dekhī kīje jog, chhīje kāyā bāṛhe rog, They who merely imitate others in austerity, waste away, and their diseases in- crease.

چاها چـﮩ‍ي chāhā-chahī S̱. (from چاهنا chahnā, q. v.) s. f. The love of oneʼs country.

چکن chikkan S (चिक्कण) adj. 1. Clean, po- lished, smooth. 2. Beautiful (persons). 3. Greasy, oily, fat (as meat), glossy, sleek, slip- pery. 4. Incontinent, lewd, wanton. چکنا باسن يا گهڙا بنا chiknā-bāsan or -ghaṛā bannā, To be incontinent, incorrigible, deaf to admonition. چکنا چاندا chiknā-chāndā (चिक्कणचंद्र) adj. Beautiful. چکني جورو chiknī jorū, s. f. A slip- pery wife. چکني سپاري chiknī supārī, s. f. A kind of betel-nut prepared by boiling. چکني صورت chiknī ṣūrat, Prosperous, affluent, flourishing. چکني مٿي chiknī-miṭṭī (चिक्कणमृत्तिका) s. f. Clay.
