چوتهـ chauth S̱. s. f. 1. (चतुर्थी) The fourth day of a lunar fortnight. 2. (चतुर्थांश) The fourth part; hence, tribute (collected by the Mahārāttas).

چهٿهـ chhaṭh षष्ठी S̱. s. f. The sixth day of a lunar fortnight.

چوکڙي chaukaṛī H s. f. 1. A bound, a spring, a bounce. 2. (s̱. see چوکڙا) A ring of pearls worn by men in the ears. چوکڙي بهرنا chaukaṛī bharnā, To leap, bound, bounce. چوکڙي بهولنا chaukaṛī bhūlnā, To forget oneʼs bound, i. e. to be fascinated, to have oneʼs senses benumbed. چوکڙي مار بيٿهنا chaukaṛī mār baiṭhnā, To squat.

چهوچهو chhochho H s. f. 1. A nurse. 2. Bo- som. چهوچهوکرنا chhochho karnā, To fondle.

چند chand चंद्र S̱. s. m. The moon. چندمکهـ chand mukh, s. m. Face bright or beautiful as the moon; adj. Having such a face. چندمکهي chand-mukh-ī, or چندبدني chand-badan-ī, adj. Having a countenance beautiful as the moon.

چرانا chirānā S̱. (causal of چيرنا) v. a. To cause to tear or be torn, cause to split.

چنگهاڙنا chinghāṛ-nā S̱. v. n. To scream, to screech (applied properly to the elephant).

چالا chālā चल S̱. s. m. Motion, departure. (met.) A lucky moment.

چابکي chābuk-ī P (from چابک) s. f. Activity, alertness, despatch, celerity, agility.

چارپايه chār-pāya P s. m. A quadruped. (Sans. चतुःपद).
