چهکانا chhakānā H (caus. of چهکنا) v. a. 1. To pamper, to cloy, to satiate. 2. To chastise.

چوکهـ chokh H 1. adj. Sharp. 2. also chūkh, s. m. The name of a medicine, orris-root, orrice or iris-root.

چکر चक्र chakkar S or chakr, s. m. 1. A whirl- wind or whirlpool. 2. A discus or sharp cir- cular missile weapon. (It was with this instru- ment, called सुदर्शनचक्र that Vish̤ṇu cut off the head of the Asur Rāhu, when, after churning the ocean, the Surs or gods, and Asurs fought for the amr̤ita or nectar). چکردهاري चक्रधारी chakr-dhārī, A peacock, Vish̤ṇu. 3. A circular course, the lounge (in manage). چکرکهانا chakkar khānā (dakh. i. q. فريب کهانا) To be deceived or tricked. چکرمارنا chakr mārnā, To wheel round, to whirl round. گهوڙيکوچکردينا ghoṛe ko chakkar denā, To lounge a horse. 4. (met.) A misfortune, scrape, per- plexity. 5. A side or quarter; as, چـﮩون چکرمين chahūṅ chakkar meṅ, On the four sides, on all sides. چکرورتي चक्रवर्त्ती chakr-vartī, s. m. 1. A universal monarch. 2. A title of Brāhmans in Bengal.

چهٿکني chhiṭkanī H s. f. A bolt.

چونٿي chūnṭī H (the diminutive or female of چونٿا chūnṭā, q. v.) s. f. A small ant.

چهٿهـ chhaṭh षष्ठी S̱. s. f. The sixth day of a lunar fortnight.

چوگهرا chau-ghar-ā चतुर्गृह S̱. s. m. A small box of gold or silver, with four partitions, for holding perfumes.

چهوانا chhūʼānā H (causal of چهونا chhūnā) v. a. To cause to touch, &c.
