چچنڐا chichinḍā H s. m. The name of a vege- table. (Beta vulgaris).

چکن chikan P (Pers. chikin or chakin: also, چکين) s. m. f. A particular mode of working flowers on muslin or other cloth, embroidery. چکن دوزيا گر chikan-doz or -gar, s. m. One who performs chikan-work. چکن کاري chikan- -kārī, s. f. The making of چکن chikan.

چني chunnī H s. f. 1. A small ruby. 2. Asca- rides.

چيلهـ chīlh S̱. s. f. See چيل chīl.

چنگڙا chingṛā चिंगट S̱. s. m. A prawn, a shrimp.

چوما chūmā चुंबन S̱. s. m. A kiss. چوما چاٿي chūmā-chāṭī, s. f. Dalliance.

چوڙچوپٿ chauṛ chaupaṭ H adj. Abandoned, vitious, damaged.

چنبلي chambelī H s. f. The name of a flower. (Jasminum grandiflorum).

چکارا chikārā H s. m. 1. A kind of antelope found on the banks of the Jamunā. 2. A kind of fiddle.

چکر चक्र chakkar S or chakr, s. m. 1. A whirl- wind or whirlpool. 2. A discus or sharp cir- cular missile weapon. (It was with this instru- ment, called सुदर्शनचक्र that Vish̤ṇu cut off the head of the Asur Rāhu, when, after churning the ocean, the Surs or gods, and Asurs fought for the amr̤ita or nectar). چکردهاري चक्रधारी chakr-dhārī, A peacock, Vish̤ṇu. 3. A circular course, the lounge (in manage). چکرکهانا chakkar khānā (dakh. i. q. فريب کهانا) To be deceived or tricked. چکرمارنا chakr mārnā, To wheel round, to whirl round. گهوڙيکوچکردينا ghoṛe ko chakkar denā, To lounge a horse. 4. (met.) A misfortune, scrape, per- plexity. 5. A side or quarter; as, چـﮩون چکرمين chahūṅ chakkar meṅ, On the four sides, on all sides. چکرورتي चक्रवर्त्ती chakr-vartī, s. m. 1. A universal monarch. 2. A title of Brāhmans in Bengal.
