اجس a-jas S̱. (अ and यशः) adj. Infamous.

اعلا aﻌlā A adj. for اعليٰ aﻌlạ, q. v.

اقصيٰ aḳṣā A adj. compar. (of قصي) Extreme, most distant; the extreme, ex- tremely.

آناکاتي ānākānī S̱. (अनाकर्णन from अन् and r. आकर्ण Listen to) s. f. Turning a deaf ear, overlooking, winking at, purposely neglecting.

استہلاک istihlāk A (inf. x. of هلاک) s. m. 1. Seeking the death or ruin of any one. 2. Ruining, destroying, consuming.

افسوس afsos P s. m. Sorrow, concern, regret, vexation. ¶ interj. Ah! alas! افسوس کرنا afsos karnā, To sigh, to sorrow, to regret, grieve, la- ment, bewail, bemoan, mourn, moan.

اون ūn S̱. (ऊर्णा r. ऊर्णु Cover) s. f. Wool. گاڐرآني اون کون بيٿهي چري کپاس gāḍar ānī ūn koṅ baiṭhī chare kapās, I brought the sheep for wool and she is eating up the cotton. (Spoken of any thing done by way of economy, which turns out very expensive, or by which a loss is incur- red.)

ابہي ab-hī S̱. adv. Just now, even now, imme- diately, instantly, presently, already.
