چنت chunat H (from چنا chunnā) s. f. Plaiting (cloths), plaits.

چمچمانا chamchamānā H v. n. To tingle, to sleep, to sparkle, to shine, to glitter.

چاتک चातक chātak S s. m. Name of a bird. (Cuculus melanoleucos).

چنوٿي chunauṭī H s. f. 1. Encouraging troops in the time of battle (for which purpose there is an officer in Indian armies). 2. Selecting from an army the fittest men for a desperate enterprise. 3. A practice which formerly pre- vailed at Benares. (On the 11th of Jeṭh, shukl-paksh̤, the inhabitants were wont to swim across the river, and forming themselves into two parties, to fight with swords, clubs, &c.).

چنبا chambā H s. m. A tribe of beggars who cut or scarify their skin.

چپٿانا chapṭānā S̱. (trans. of چپٿنا chapaṭnā) v. a. To flatten. H.P. چپٿ باز chapaṭ-bāz, Femina libidini sap- phicæ indulgens. چپٿ بازي chapaṭ-bāz-ī, s. f. Congressus libidinosus duarum mulierum.

چهاچ chhāch H s. m. See چهاج chhāj.

چڙپڙانا chaṛpaṛānā H v. n. To palpitate, to flutter, to throb.

چنار chanār P or chinār, s. m. 1. A poplar, a plane-tree. 2. chanār, A circle stained by women on their hands and feet with ḥinnā.

چوٿ chūṭ H s. m. A crack, a noise.
