جلسا julasā A s. plur. (of جليس) Companions.

جهٿالنا jhuṭālnā S̱. (see جهوٿهـ) v. a. 1. To prove to be false, to prove one in the wrong. 2. To pollute victuals by touching them, &c. منــﮩـ جهٿالنا muṅh jhuṭālnā, To eat something. منـﮩ‍ا منـﮩـ جهٿالنا muṅhā muṅh jhuṭālnā, To give a man the lie to his face.

جڙاٴي jaṛāʼī S̱. s. f. 1. Price of setting jewels. 2. The act of setting jewels.

جر jarr A s. m. 1. Drawing, dragging. 2. The base, foundation, foot of a mountain. 3. The vowel kasra at the end of words. حرف جر or جار ḥarf-i-jarr or -jārr, A particle which gives to the noun a termination in kasra.

جاجک jājak H s. m. A player on cymbals or on the tabour.

The world. جـﮩ‍ان آرا jahān- ārā, World-adorning. جـﮩ‍ان بان jahān-bān, World-protector, a sovereign. جـﮩ‍ان بين jahān- bīn, World-seeing; (met.) the eye, a traveller. جـﮩ‍ان پناه jahān-panāh, World-protection; his majesty, your majesty! جـﮩ‍ان تاب jahān-tāb, Heating the world. جـﮩ‍ان جـﮩ‍ان jahān jahān, adj. Much, many. جـﮩ‍اندار jahān-dār, Ruler of the world, a king. جـﮩ‍انداري jahān-dār-ī, s. f. Government, empire. جـﮩ‍انديده jahān-dīda, adj. One who has seen the world, a great traveller, experienced. جـﮩ‍ازنسوز jahān-soz, adj. World- inflaming. جـﮩ‍ان گير jahān-gīr, World-taking, world-subduing. جـﮩ‍انگرد jahān-gard, adj. Going round the world; s. m. A traveller. جـﮩ‍ان نما jahān-numā, adj. Exhibiting the world.

جلنا jalnā ज्वलन S̱. v. n. To burn, to be burnt, to be kindled; met. to get into a passion, to be enraged, to rage. جل اٿهنا jal uṭhnā, To break out (as, fire). جل بجهنا jal bujhnā, To brand, to burn to ashes. جل پکنا jal paknā, To be in a passion, to rage. جلي پرنون لگانا jale par non lagānā (lit. to throw salt on one who is burned) To triumph over, to insult.

جهوم jhūm H s. m. 1. Abundance of foliage. 2. Waving, undulating. جهوم جهوم jhūm jhūm, Gathering of the clouds.
