جبدا jabaddā H adj. Rigid, stiff, awkward.

جوال jauwāl A adj. Going about or travelling much ¶ jiwāl, s. plur. (of جول) Walls or en- closures of wells.

جوهرفرد jauhar-i-fard A s. m. 1. An indivisible atom. 2. (met.) A person unrivalled or une- qualled.

جاٴي jāʼe P s. f. Place, room. See جا jā. جاٴي اعتراض jā-e-iﻌtirāẓ, The time or place of opposition. جاٴي باش jāʼe-bāsh, Place of abode. جاٴي ضرور jāʼe-ẓarūr, s. f. The necessary. جاٴي غم jāʼe-g̠ẖamm, The place or time of grief. جاٴي نشين jāʼe-nishīn, A successour, locum tenens.

جدهر jidhar यत्र S̱. adv. Where, wherever, whither, there. جدهر تدهر jidhar tidhar (यत्रतत्र) adv. Here and there, everywhere. جدهرنوان ادهرپاني ڐهلنا jidhar niwān udhar pānī ḍhalnā, Where there is low ground there the water flows; (meaning) evil is added to evil, or misfortune comes upon misfortune.

جسدا jasudā S̱. s. f. See جسودا.

جمنا jamnā S̱. (r. यम Bind, restrain) v. n. 1. To be coagulated, congealed, or frozen, to consoli- date. 2. To be collected, to clot. 3. To ad- here, stick, cohere, set. 4. To pace in the manage.

جانگهـ jāngh जंघा S̱. s. f. The thigh.

جاگـﮩـ jāgah H s. f. See جگـﮩـ jagah, Place, &c.

جارل jāral H s. m. A kind of wood. (Lager- strœmia flos reginæ).
