جره jurra P s. m. A species of hawk or falcon: see جرا jurrā. ¶ jarra, s. m. A jar, pitcher, water-vessel.

جامگي jāmgī P or jāmagī, s. f. 1. A salary. 2. Match of a gun.

جامن jāman जम्बू S̱. s. f. A fruit and tree so called. (Eugenia jambolana).

جکهني jakhanī यक्षिणी S̱. s. f. 1. Wife of a جکهـ jakh, q. v. 2. A sort of female fiend, at- tached to the service of Durgā, and frequently maintaining, like a sylph or fairy, an intercourse with mortals.

جوگي योगी jog-ī S s. m. 1. A Hindū faḳīr, a devotee. 2. A cast of Hindūs who are com- monly weavers. (The people of this cast do not burn, but bury their dead; and, the women are sometimes buried alive with their husbandʼs corpse).

جهٿالنا jhuṭālnā S̱. (see جهوٿهـ) v. a. 1. To prove to be false, to prove one in the wrong. 2. To pollute victuals by touching them, &c. منــﮩـ جهٿالنا muṅh jhuṭālnā, To eat something. منـﮩ‍ا منـﮩـ جهٿالنا muṅhā muṅh jhuṭālnā, To give a man the lie to his face.
