امام imām A s. m. 1. A leader in religious af- fairs, a prelate, patriarch, priest, chief. 2. A large bead in a rosary, which remains fixed in the hand and is not turned over in counting (called by the Hindūs sumeru).

آهرجاهر āhar jāhar S̱. (from آنا and جانا) s. f. Coming and going, ingress and egress.

ان شا الله تعالي in shā allāhu taāﻌlạ A God willing, if God pleases, please God.

اٿهوانا uṭhwānā S̱. (caus. of اٿهنا) v. a. To cause to lift or raise up, or remove, &c.

افگار afgār P adj. Wounded.

افعيٰ afʼāﻌ A (vulg. afīﻌ) s. m. A serpent, basilisk, asp, viper.

آزاري āzār-ī P adj. Sick, a sick person.

اشوچ अशौच अ and r. शुच Become pure a-shauch S. s. m. Impurity; mourning.

ارتداد irtidād A (inf. viii. of ردّ) s. m. Returning, refusing, opposing; apostasy, recantation.
