جدوار jadwār A s. m. Zedoary. (Kœmpferia zedoar, or Curcuma zedoaria, Roxb.).

جهنڐولا jhanḍūlā H adj. With thick handsome foliage (a tree), with a fine head of hair (a child).

جهڙي jhaṛī H s. f. 1. Continued rain, showers, storm, wet weather. 2. Perquisites.

جهوپڙا jhopṛā H s. m. See جهونپڙي jhompṛī.

جونار jaunār जेमन S̱. s. f. A feast.

جدول jadwal A s. f. 1. Lines drawn in a book (as ruling, or to separate the margin). 2. A rivulet. 3. A table, an astronomical table. (Plur. جداول).

جل जल jal S s. m. Water. جل پچهي jal- pachchh̤ī (जलपक्षी) s. f. Water-fowl. جل جل jal jal, adj. Full of water, wet. جل تهل jal thal (जल Water, and स्थल Dry ground)

جاموس jāmūs A s. m. A buffalo. (Pers. گاوميش).

جثه jus̤s̤a A s. m. The body, the figure of the human body. S. ججمان यजमान (r. यज Worship, make offerings) jajmān, s. m. A customer, a person to whose custom brāhmans, barbers, and some others, have a legal claim. (The hereditary brāhman, or barber, &c. of a village must be paid his fees, whether you choose to employ him or another person).
